24 Feb 2009 Wall-E and Andrew Stanton
tags News, Display author sketchy

Not long ago, I had the opportunity to go to a preview screening of Wall-E where the Director, Andrew Stanton attended and was interviewed. Even though I got to walk down the red carpet at the High School Musical 3 Opening, listening to Andrew Stanton was a more exhilarating experience - it’s just more my thing.

My Collector’s Edition Fining Nemo DVD is probably a little more collectable now that it has an Oscar winner’s signature on it.

It’s a little late to mention how awesome the movie is, so I’ll skip that bit and go straight to Stanton being swamped with people and DVDs. When I finally got to him, I had a bit of a strange moment where I could imagine him thinking…

“Oh no, what’s this guy got? An entire art pad for me to look through? What did he say? something was rejected by Disney but he had to do it anyway?”

Luckily there was a smile as I showed him preliminary artwork for a Wall-E product I created. It’s such a shame that Disney Licensing prohibits the interaction of their characters with products, because I have such a fondness for this design…

24 Feb 2009 “Office Pandamonium” Completed
tags Display, Concept Art, Finished author sketchy

Hi Everyone,
It’s been quite a while since I’ve posted, and I realised I hadn’t even posted the finished version of my panda. I sold my first print of it back in September as part of the Chalk Urban Art Festival in Sydney. I’ll post about some other work I did at the festival shortly. In the mean time, enjoy Office Pandamonium!

13 Sep 2007 Adam Celeban is now a .com!
tags News, Display author sketchy

Yay! it’s oficially launched. The new version of my website, with new host and new domain.

http://adamceleban.com

I thought it was a small update, but apparently I’ve given it a HUGE redesign, so go and have a look. It’s all nice and simple to navigate, and pretty too.
This has been the first little step to marketing myself. I was told to run out immediately and get my name as a dot com before anyone else does. Unbelieveable there’s already a Polish superstar soccer player out there with my name, stealing a bit of my thunder whenever I decide to google myself (Urban Dictionary: narcissurfing).

I was thinking to myself… “good thing my name isn’t John Smith, how depressing would that be?”, but then, before making a fool of myself, I thought I’d better check it out, and It’s a “page not found”, so it just might still be available. Quick John, go get your amazingly unpopular domain name!

Enjoy.

16 Mar 2007 Repellex - It Works!
tags Display, Finished author sketchy

As promised, Repellex has been released to the world…sure to rocket Michael (the talent) into internet fame/infamy. I’ve finally uploaded our student commercial to YouTube. Anyone who reads this, please rate it so that gets noticed. we might have one of those freak cult favourites on our hands…well, its wishful thinking, but it could happen!

Go, watch and rate it here!

Some little known facts:

Magnus, the owner of the kitchen we filmed in, was less than pleased with his kitchen bench top being covered in Mr. Sheen.

The number of takes, im sure, went beyond 50. Its difficult getting the right balance of cheesy unprofessionalism.

Sam pulled the cupboard open, standing on a chair, using an extension cord. Zhen was made to hide below the oven and pull it open by the tea towel.

Michael had a harder time pronouncing Repellex(propellex), than he did, saying “tri-polimer based killing agents and active ingredients di-hydrogen oxide”.

The name, Cumberdale, is borrowed from one of our favourite creepy flash cartoons, Salad Fingers (btw, if you’ve never seen it before, i’m going to warn you before you click on the link. You’ve been warned).
